Vortex Optics, the company taking the entire optics world by storm. Rangefinders, riflescopes, you name it and they do it better than almost every other company out there. The same is true of these amazing compact binoculars, the Vortex Optics Vanquish.

Vortex Optics Vanquish Binocular

Any product you put your hands on from Vortex will be the best quality you can get and for a price that is very hard to believe. This is very true with the Vanquish binoculars which have all of the quality and durability a serious user could ever want. Whatever Vortex is doing, they are doing it right.

Most people would consider binoculars to be one of the easier optics to make. You don’t have to worry about accuracy and alignment as you do in a riflescope. While this may be true, all of the best optics companies put the same care and craftsmanship into their binoculars as they do a rifle scope.

You still have to get your lenses just right and use quality components. They have to size, weight, and shape them so they are appealing and usable to a demanding consumer. Vortex has done this and done it well! There may be a few companies that equal this quality but nowhere near this price.

So, if you’re looking for a great pair of binoculars as a hunter, bird watcher, sports fan, or just someone who just likes to view the scenery, you can bet on the Vortex Optics Vanquish to do you right. They have all the power, toughness, and quality you are likely to ever need.

How Good are They?

Quality in any optic starts with the glass you use. Without good lenses, you have nothing more than an odd paperweight. The optical quality on the Vanquish is as good as you can get. There are a few specialty companies that make better glass but they cost thousands of dollars.

The extra-low dispersion of the vortex lenses maximizes color and light transmission for the ultimate view. Everything is clear, crisp, and has high contrast even over long distances.  Of all the major optics brands out there, Vortex is in the top 1%.

Not the type to sit on their laurels, Vortex has also added their own premium multi-coat technology and combined that with a 26mm objective. This maximizes light transmission for crystal clear viewing even in low light conditions. You simply can not understand the quality of a Vortex optic until you look through one.

But the glass isn’t all there is. You pay a lot for good quality products and even though Vortex is quite budget-friendly, you still want to get a lifetime of use out of them. With the Vanquish, this is not a concern. From top to bottom, they are designed for durability.

The internal chambers are sealed and dry-nitrogen purged. This means you will get no condensation or fogging and any foreign dust or debris has no way of working its way in. This alone will add years of use but isn’t the only factor in durability.

You use your binoculars in the field and that means you will experience all forms of weather and abuse. You need something that is waterproof and resists the bangs and dings that just happen.  Vortex has you covered there with complete rubberized armor and O-ring seals on the lenses to keep them in place.

With a size that easily fits in your pocket and weighing under a pound, these are a take-anywhere option. You want a set of binoculars you don’t mind carrying and these are exactly that. You can get smaller but not with this level of quality.

What are the Negatives?

Any list of negatives on a pair of Vortex binoculars would be unduly short. This may sound a little hokey but it is very true. Short of paying a thousand dollars or more you won’t find a better set of binoculars. You will find no set better for the price, period.

You could get a set of binoculars with more power as these max out at 10x. If that doesn’t do what you need, you will have to look elsewhere. Otherwise, there is not a lot of bad to say. They do everything they need to and then some.

The eyepieces are a little close together. This should not be an issue for 95% of people but a very few may find them hard to get in line with their eyes.

Final Thoughts

If you are on a budget but not willing to compromise, you need to take a look at the Vortex Optics Vanquish. They are seriously good optics for the money and would still be a good value at twice the price.

If you only buy one set of binoculars for everyday use, these should be the ones you get. You will be satisfied in every way. I have zero doubts about recommending this product and that is a truly rare thing for me to say.

These are the newest Vortex product I have added to my collection and I have been immensely happy with them, I think you will be too. There are so few bad things to say about them and so many good. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I have been an avid outdoorsman all my life and have hunted and fished most of the Eastern United States for over three decades. During that time I’ve taken almost every North American game animal with either a rifle or bow. For the past 15 years, I have engaged heavily in shooting competitions in various disciplines including traditional archery, handgun, and long-range rifle.
